Fairlawn to close Rothrock Road on Friday to install barricades

By Heather Beyer correspondent

FAIRLAWN: At a council meeting on Monday, Mayor William Roth said the city will be installing new plastic barricades and delineators that will close Rothrock Road to all traffic on Friday.

The plastic barricades and delineators will be installed at a location to the west of the intersection of Rothrock Road and Sawgrass Drive.

Emergency Services will also activate the gates at the intersection of Rothrock Road and Rosemont Boulevard for use.

City officials said that appropriate signs will be place to advise the motoring public of the closure.

Copley Township officials have filed an appeal against Judge Alison McCarty's ruling allowing Fairlawn to block traffic to a proposed new Walmart and Sam’s Club in Copley, however Roth said the closure of Rothrock will occur this Friday as scheduled.

Council will meet again at 6:30 p.m. on Aug.12.
