FAIRLAWN: The staff at the Fairlawn-Bath Branch Library is celebrating the holiday season on Saturday with special entertainment, treats and activities for all ages, according to Jane Scott, Fairlawn-Bath branch manager.
“It’s a good chance for us to give something back to the community,” Scott said. “While getting your books you can enjoy some music, or some magic.”
There will be winter crafts for children from kindergarten to fifth grade at 10:30 a.m. Then, at 11:30 a.m., there will be a story and dance presentation by the Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet. At 1 p.m., the Great Kaplan, magician, juggler, comedian and vaudeville entertainer extraordinaire, will entertain the crowd, followed by music from the Brick Road Ramblers at 2:15 p.m.
Library manager Jane Scott said that in addition to starting off the holidays, the open house serves as an escape from the harsh realities of the holiday season.
“It’s getting hectic out there,” Scott said. “So go do some shopping and then come over and relax, watch the ballet, listen to the comedian, listen to some music, and then go back out and go shopping.”
The program is sponsored by the Friends of Fairlawn-Bath Branch Library, which is located at 3101 Smith Road. For details, call 330-643-4612.
