Ridgewood Crossing Plaza is getting a new tenant this year. This spring, Conrad’s Tire Express & Total Care will be adding its own aesthetic to the small community.
The plaza, which is located near the intersection of Ridgewood and Miller roads, houses Old Carolina Barbeque, Tiffany’s Bakery and Ice Cream, and Hollywood Tan’s. Now, in addition to a barbeque meal or pastry, residents can get a car wash or have their muffler repaired.
Superintendent John Prokay, who is in charge of the construction project, said the facility will have a two-car 24-hour laser wash. It will also provide basic car services such as tire service, tire alignment, and muffler repair.
According to Prokay this project has been on the owner’s mind for a long time.
“They’ve been looking at this site for the past seven years,” said Prokay.
The location is expected to open by the end of March, however, Prokay said the project was not without its share of setbacks.
On top of legal matters that he could not elaborate on, he also said the ground was overrun by stones and other types of debris, which they had to spend extra time removing. And the weather was an issue, too. But Prokay said the expectation is still to have the job complete by spring.
