Q) How does the chamber balance supporting local-owned businesses and promoting the business community as a whole?
A) The Fairlawn Area Chamber of Commerce (FACC) promotes and supports businesses in the Fairlawn-Copley-Bath areas with robust monthly luncheons at the Hilton. Members have the opportunity to promote their businesses at this event, as well as host Before Nine, and After Five networking events that give members the opportunity to show off their respective businesses.
A few years ago the FACC made a decision to reach out into the communities we encompass and provide financial support to deserving agencies. I am proud to say that we contributed $14,000 earlier this year. $4,000 was given to the Fairlawn Foundation to support the Fourth of July parade and fireworks; $2,500 was given to GASP; $2,500 to Stewart's Caring Place, $2,500 to Open M, and $2,500 to Victims Assistance. THAT is supporting our communities!
Q) What's the best-kept secret in Fairlawn?
A) From a business perspective, the FACC is the best-kept secret. Do you know that we have 170 members attend our MONTHLY luncheons! Why? Because we are a friendly chamber. We have engaging speakers. We support each other. And for $265 per year, your 11 monthly lunches are INCLUDED (we don't have a luncheon in June, we have a golf outing). No other chamber offers all this for $265 per year.
